Connection to Country grant
The Wagyl Kaip Southern Noongar Aboriginal Corporation has been awarded a $25,000 Connecting to Country grant to facilitate on-Country intergenerational learning between our women Elders and young women on Menang Boodja.
This grant will help us to support our women to come together and share traditional ecological knowledge through the medium of plant medicines, and create meaningful opportunities for getting out on Country and learning customary practices.
We will be developing workshops where women can learn how different native plants provide medicines and can be cared for sustainably, and to experiment with making native plant medicine products.
Keep an eye out for more information as this project develops over the coming months.
Thank you to the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries for providing us with this important funding.
