We are writing to update you about recent changes to the WKSNAC Rule Book.
The changes were initiated and registered by the Registrar of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporations (ORIC). Following these changes, the Trustee identified that parts of the amended Rule Book do not align with the Regional Corporation Principles and issued WKSNAC with an ENE Default Notice.
Importantly, the Trustee has acknowledged that WKSNAC was not responsible for these amendments.
WKSNAC is also not the only Regional Corporation affected by ORIC-initiated Rule Book changes. The Noongar Corporations Committee has been working collectively on the issue, alongside the relevant parties, to support a coordinated resolution.
WKSNAC has also applied for and received approval to extend the timeframe for holding our AGM. Members will be advised of the new AGM date in due course.
There is no action required from members at this stage. We will continue to keep members informed as the matter progresses.
