About WKSN Aboriginal Corporation

The Wagyl Kaip and Southern Noongar people are the Traditional Owners of approximately 52,246km² and includes the towns of Buyups Brook, Gowangerup, Bridgetown, Walpole, Denmark, Mt Barker, Cranbrook, Tambellup, Katanning, Nyabing, Jerramungup, Ravensthorpe, Hopetoun, Bremer Bay and Albany. Wagyl Kaip and Southern Noongar lays east of the South West Boojarah region and south of the Gnaala Karla Booja region.

Wagyl Kaip Southern Noongar Aboriginal Corporation (WKSN) was formed as a result of the South West Native Title Settlement (Settlement). WKSN has been established to assist Wagyl Kaip and Southern Noongar people to maintain, protect, promote and support their culture and manage the land and waters within their country. WKSN is party to one of six Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUA) that comprise the Settlement.


Lands Manager

Working closely with the CEO to provide strategic advice and support, the Lands Manager will lead the establishment of the Noongar Land Estate within the Wagyl Kaip Southern Noongar (WKSN) Agreement Area. The Lands Manager will provide oversight to the selection of Cultural Land across the region and its inclusion into the Noongar Boodja Trust.

It's a full time role, based in Albany. The annual salary range is $129,561 to $134,744 plus superannuation.

Heritage Anthropologist or Archaeologist

Assist with the protection of Noongar heritage by undertaking all necessary activities, including fieldwork, for the implementation of the Noongar Standard Heritage Agreement (NSHA) and other activities.

It’s a full time role based in Albany, with regular travel across the Wagyl Kaip Southern Noongar region. The annual salary range is between $102,545 to $110,913 plus superannuation.

Senior Ranger

This is a hands on role with field work and land management activities. Liaise with the team leader, manager, and the ranger team on cultural matters.

Work on country and travel across the Wagyl Kaip Southern Noongar region. The annual salary range is $94,809 to $98,601 plus superannuation.

Ranger x 4

Work on Country with activities including fire management, weed and pest management, cultural site protection, restoration and/or management, supporting Aboriginal community projects, park infrastructure development and maintenance.

These are part-time roles based in Albany, with regular travel across the Wagyl Kaip Southern Noongar region. The annual salary is $77,925 plus superannuation.
