About WKSN Aboriginal Corporation

The Wagyl Kaip and Southern Noongar people are the Traditional Owners of approximately 52,246km² and includes the towns of Buyups Brook, Gowangerup, Bridgetown, Walpole, Denmark, Mt Barker, Cranbrook, Tambellup, Katanning, Nyabing, Jerramungup, Ravensthorpe, Hopetoun, Bremer Bay and Albany. Wagyl Kaip and Southern Noongar lays east of the South West Boojarah region and south of the Gnaala Karla Booja region.

Wagyl Kaip Southern Noongar Aboriginal Corporation (WKSN) was formed as a result of the South West Native Title Settlement (Settlement). WKSN has been established to assist Wagyl Kaip and Southern Noongar people to maintain, protect, promote and support their culture and manage the land and waters within their country. WKSN is party to one of six Indigenous Land Use Agreements (ILUA) that comprise the Settlement.


Lands Officer

This role will work closely with the Lands Manager, the WKSN AC Cultural Advice Committee and the Noongar Boodja Trust to assess and on-board NLE lands within the WKSN AC footprint.

The Lands Officer will undertake GIS mapping and land data management services and provide the WKSN AC community members with land related advice.

It’s a full time role, based in Albany. The annual salary range is $87,656 to $98,601 plus superannuation.

The Corporation has a preference to employ Noongar persons, in particular persons with Wagyl Kaip Southern Noongar connections, however non-Noongar persons are eligible for appointment should no suitable Noongar person be available.
