Announcements

Dear valued members and stakeholders

The Wagyl Kaip Southern Noongar Aboriginal Corporation (WKSNAC) wishes to advise, following a meeting of the full board yesterday there has been a change of leadership within the directorship with a further operational change for noting in coming weeks.

Craig McVee tendered his resignation as Chairperson opting to stay on as a member director of the Board which required an in-board election to fill the Chairperson vacancy. Following the nomination and process between two (2) member directors and a subsequent election, I'm pleased to advise that with full support of the WKSNAC Board, I was successfully appointed to represent the strategic arm of the corporation until the 2027 Annual General Meeting.

Further to the change of leadership at the governance level, the WKSNAC Board received notice of resignation from the corporation's Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Noelene McCormick. The CEO will continue to function in her capacity until early April with business-as-usual post cessation. The Board has begun considering recruitment and succession planning options to ensure a smooth transition of all leadership roles in the coming weeks.

WKSNAC is grateful and appreciative for the contribution of both Craig and Noelene for their stewardship and wish them the very best with their forward journeys into the future.

During the change management period, we ask that all stakeholders continue to be respectful and supportive of the corporation to ensure stability and growth through this exciting chapter of maturity and in delivering all priorities and outcomes for the agreement group and wider community(s).

The Board will provide relevant updates in the coming weeks as required and appropriate.

Sincerely,
Laurence Riley
Chairperson, Wagyl Kaip Southern Noongar Aboriginal Corporation
