The Wagyl Kaip Southern Noongar Aboriginal Corporation (WKSN AC) recently entered into joint management of the newly established Mamang Maambakoort Marine Park (MMMP) with the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions (DBCA).

Joint Management Plan

The WKSN AC and DBCA will jointly manage the MMMP under the Joint Management Plan which can be found here: Mamang Maambakoort Marine Park joint management plan - DBCA.

The MMMP Joint Management Body Membership and Role

The WKSN AC and the DBCA will establish the MMMP Joint Management Body in early 2025. DBCA will have three members and WKSN AC will have six.

Call for Expressions of Interest for WKSN AC MMMP Joint Management Body Membership

WKSN AC is seeking Expressions of Interest from WKSN Noongar People who are interested being appointed to the MMMP Joint Management Body.

WKSN AC Joint Management Body members will be paid sitting fees and travel fees to attend meetings. There will be a minimum of three meetings a year commencing in early 2025.

How Do I Apply

Please provide the following:

  • A short letter describing your cultural and/or environmental knowledge of the MMMP area and tell us why you should be selected to represent the WKSN Group on the JMB.

  • Please also send through your CV – Resume so we know what experience you have.
