In 2026, Albany will mark 200 years since being established as the first British settlement in Western Australia. The City of Albany has begun planning for a range of Bicentenary commemorations.

The Wagyl Kaip Aboriginal Corporation’s first General Meeting was a success, with members attending both online and in person in Kojonup, on Saturday 11 June 2022.

The first round of membership applications have now been processed, and nominations have closed for the board of directors and cultural advice committee.
